  I have attended black mountain middle school for the past 2.5 years and I feel like I have learned nothing useful. They force everyone to learn the exact same subjects wether they like it or not. I want to learn Java programming, how will learning about the atom help me learn Java? It won’t. This school year they shortened lunch time to 35 minutes. They say that it’s okay because they give us a ten minute break on Wednesday and Thursday, but that’s still not much. My dad’s girlfriend said that she got a 15 minute break every day and a 1 hour lunch. They also enforce stupid rules like, “no selling things at school”, “fighting back if someone’s attacking you isn’t self defense”, and “you’re not allowed to hug”. I feel like I have no potential future because I am tought the exact same things as everyone else at the exact same pace and that I’m slowly losing my spark that makes me unique. They tell us that they are preparing us for the future but how am I prepared for the future if I’m the same as everyone else, shouldn’t they let us specialize in things we’re good at and want to learn about? No one needs to be good at everything. Even 2 of my teachers hate the things they have to teach as teachers. And I kind of feel bad for them. Every day the reason they teach me the things they teach make less and less sense. They are also always trying to spread positivity and saying if you cant say something nice, say nothing at all. I prefer, “ Don’t tell someone what they’re doing wrong, tell them how they can improve.”
