  This is an excellent school. The building is located across from City College and is a very nice structure. My son is a current student. He is intelligent, nice and active in outside sports. Some may stereotype this school as bad, but it is not. I guess it has been judged because there is a program for minors who are pregnant. However, I believe that there should not be any type of label or stigma placed upon this school. It is a diverse school with different youth of all levels of society. The socio-economic backgrounds are of various diverse high school youth. My son is enrolled in the Oracle Program. It is an independent study program, but there is structure. It is a non-traditional learning environment. My son became behind in credits because we moved from a different district. He came from a year round school to a traditional school. When we moved to this new area, I enrolled him in The San Diego Charter School. My plan was to have him complete some courses there, so he could start a fresh new semester at San Diego High School. But, when he went to the charter school, he became more behind. Thank God I found Oracle at Garfield High School. His teacher is great! She helped him get back on track and feel confident about himself. He is motivated and excited to graduate. He has big plans for college again and shares it with the rest of our family. I give this school 5 stars because I feel that it geared him into a positive direction. The school is safe and I trust him there, He has met some new friends and they are all very good. I recommend this school.
