  We were in SD for a friends wedding and ended up at Kansas City BBQ hoping to watch a bit of March Madness & chow down on some tasty BBQ.
  
  Unfortunately, the overall food quality is just not there. We ordered the ribs & beef brisket. The meat was relatively tough and lacked flavor.
  
  The sides were so-so; we had the coleslaw and potato salad. The waitstaff did warn us that they were out of the most popular sides (onion rings, mac & cheese) because of a perfect storm of conventions in SD that weekend.
  
  Overall it is a dive bar (which I love), so it would be an excellent place for a few beers. Don't expect fancy or clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating, despite the long wait for food & seating.
  
  TL/DR :
  - Food is meh
  - Service is friendly but slow
  - Good place for beers
  
  Note: Top Gun filmed a scene at this bar, so it is a bit touristy. Not something we realized until we arrived.
